Comrade Ugwu Michael Okwudili, popularly known as Alhaji Jango, has expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for appointing him as a member of the state's Development Centres, alongside other administrators and members appointed across the 68 Development Centres in Enugu State.

Alhaji Jango, a prominent grassroots mobiliser and President-General of Ogbeke Nike Autonomous Community in Enugu East Local Government Area, described the appointments as a significant opportunity to strengthen grassroots governance, promote inclusive participation and bring government closer to the people.

Speaking on behalf of his family and the entire Ogbeke Nike community, he thanked Governor Mbah for recognising the importance of community representation in governance and providing individuals at the grassroots with opportunities to contribute to the development of their respective areas.

He noted that the Development Centres provide an important platform for identifying local needs, strengthening collaboration between government and communities, and ensuring that development initiatives reflect the aspirations of residents across the state.

Alhaji Jango said the appointment was both a personal honour and a responsibility he would approach with humility, dedication, integrity and accountability. He pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by contributing meaningfully to the development of Ogbeke Nike, Iyiukwu Development Centre and Enugu State at large.

In his message of appreciation, Alhaji Jango said:

“First and foremost, I give all glory, honour and adoration to Almighty God for His grace, mercy and favour in my life. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the development of my community and our dear state.

“I sincerely appreciate our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for the appointment of administrators and members across the 68 Development Centres in Enugu State, and particularly for finding me worthy of appointment as a member of the Development Centre structure.

“Your Excellency, this appointment means a great deal to me, my family and the entire people of Ogbeke Nike Autonomous Community. We see it as a demonstration of your administration's recognition of grassroots participation and the importance of giving communities opportunities to contribute directly to governance and development.

“I am particularly grateful that this opportunity has extended to people at the grassroots, where the real needs of our communities are best understood. Development becomes more meaningful when the people are involved, when their concerns are heard and when those entrusted with responsibility work sincerely to improve their welfare.

“On behalf of my family and the good people of Ogbeke Nike, I say a very big thank you to Your Excellency. We deeply appreciate this opportunity and the confidence you have reposed in us. It is an honour we will not take for granted.

“Your Excellency, your Tomorrow Is Here vision continues to inspire conversations about the future of Enugu State and the need to translate development aspirations into tangible benefits for the people. I am pleased to be part of the grassroots governance structure through which I can contribute my quota to the advancement of our communities.

“As a community leader and the President-General of Ogbeke Nike Autonomous Community, I have always believed that peace, unity, cooperation and collective responsibility are essential to sustainable development. This new responsibility offers another opportunity to strengthen those values and work with relevant stakeholders to promote progress.

“I assure Your Excellency that I will discharge my responsibilities with humility, integrity, diligence and a strong sense of accountability. I will work harmoniously with the relevant authorities, community leaders, stakeholders and residents to support initiatives that promote peace, unity, community development and the general welfare of our people.

“I also congratulate all the administrators and members appointed across the 68 Development Centres in the state. I urge us all to see these appointments not merely as positions of honour but as calls to service. We must remain committed to the welfare of our people, work together in the public interest and ensure that the confidence reposed in us translates into meaningful contributions to grassroots development.

“To my beloved people of Ogbeke Nike, my family, community stakeholders, friends, political associates and all well-wishers, I thank you for your continued support, prayers and encouragement. Your solidarity gives me greater motivation to serve with sincerity and dedication.

“I encourage Ndi Enugu to continue to support constructive efforts aimed at advancing the development of our state. Government and the people must work together, because sustainable progress requires cooperation, mutual understanding and a shared commitment to the common good.

“Once again, I express my heartfelt gratitude to our Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for this opportunity to serve. I pray that Almighty God will continue to grant him wisdom, strength, protection and guidance as he leads Enugu State towards greater development and prosperity.
