President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has recorded another boost in educational access as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) disbursed ₦9,730,200 to 285 students of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano State, for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The latest disbursement underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent Nigerian students from pursuing their academic dreams, while reinforcing the role of education as a catalyst for national development.

The institution formally acknowledged receipt of the funds in a letter dated September 7, 2026, signed by its Acting Provost, Dr. Ali Tamasi Mu’az, who confirmed that the money was received in four tranches and subsequently disbursed to the beneficiaries.

A breakdown of the payments shows that the first tranche of ₦3,481,800 benefited 101 students, while the second tranche of ₦1,519,700 covered 41 students.

The third payment of ₦1,297,000 supported another 42 students, while the fourth tranche of ₦3,431,700 reached 101 beneficiaries.

Altogether, the four tranches amounted to ₦9.73 million, providing financial support to 285 students of the Kano-based institution.

The College expressed profound appreciation to NELFUND management for the intervention and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a productive relationship with the Fund in advancing educational opportunities for its students.

The development represents another significant step in the implementation of President Tinubu’s student-loan initiative, designed to expand access to tertiary education by providing eligible students with financial assistance for institutional charges and easing the economic pressures associated with higher education.

For the beneficiaries at Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, the intervention offers much-needed financial relief, helping to reduce the burden of education-related expenses and allowing them to focus more attention on their studies and academic aspirations.

Beyond the immediate support to the 285 students, the disbursement reflects the broader objective of the Renewed Hope Agenda to promote inclusive education, strengthen human capital development and ensure that more Nigerians have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to society.

NELFUND continues to support eligible students across participating institutions, the latest intervention in Kano further highlights the importance of sustained investment in education and the Federal Government’s efforts to make higher education more accessible to students from different economic backgrounds.
