The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has processed 1,659,853 student loan applications and disbursed a total of ₦355.87 billion to support students across Nigerian tertiary institutions, according to its latest dashboard report.

The NELFUND Daily Dashboard Report for Thursday, September 3, 2026, shows that the Fund has paid ₦192,888,267,439.25 in institutional fees, covering beneficiaries across 319 institutions.

NELFUND has also paid ₦162,984,512,000.00 in upkeep allowances to students, bringing its total loan disbursement to ₦355,872,779,439.25.

The figures represent the cumulative performance of the student loan scheme since the launch of the NELFUND Student Loan Portal on May 24, 2024.

With almost 1.66 million applications processed, the latest dashboard underscores the growing reach of the Federal Government's student financing intervention, providing support for institutional charges as well as direct upkeep allowances.

The initiative is designed to reduce financial barriers to tertiary education and help eligible Nigerian students pursue their academic programmes with greater financial stability.

The latest figures further highlight NELFUND's expanding role in implementing the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda in the education sector, with hundreds of billions of naira already deployed toward supporting students nationwide.
