As the CSDA Boss continues Statewide Water and Sanitation projects inspection to Udenu Local Government Area, the good people of Ogbodu Aba, Ezimo Uno, Igugu and others in Udenu Local Government Council all delighted in high spirit as they hail Gov Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's rural development, especially the Water project through the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) .
The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Hon Aka Eze Aka, together with his Deputy, Hon Mrs Onyinye Odo,who received the GM of CSDA and his team reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to sustaining water and sanitation projects across the locality.
The Chairman stated this in his office while the General Manager of the Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA),
Monday Diamond Ani, paid a courtesy visit to the council as part of the agency’s monitoring tour of intervention projects and partnership with the council.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman appreciated the agency for its impactful interventions in communities like Ogbodu Aba, Ezimo Uno, Igugu, others.
He disclosed that the council has also embarked on additional water projects across the area, stressing that access to clean and potable water remains a major priority of his administration.
According to him, improving water supply directly enhances public health, sanitation, and the overall wellbeing of residents. He assured the CSDA team of the council’s readiness to collaborate closely to ensure the sustainability and protection of all intervention facilities in the area.
In his remarks, the CSDA General Manager, Monday Diamond Ani, commended the Mayor for his readiness to partnership as well as some water intervention in his Local Government Area.
Ani confirmed that the water projects inspected in Ogbodu Aba, Ezimo Uno, and Igugu are fully functional and effectively serving residents. He expressed satisfaction with the quality, performance, and sustainability of the facilities, emphasizing that provision of clean water remains central to the agency’s intervention strategy.
The CSDA Boss, however, stressed the urgent need to tackle open defecation in the locality, describing sanitation as a critical component of rural development. He warned that open defecation poses serious health and environmental risks and must be addressed with urgency.
Meanwhile, the students of Government Technical College Igudu thanked Governor Peter Mbah for providing them with a potable water in their school and the environs .
