The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday officially released the names of members of its various sub-committees saddled with the responsibility of organising the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention scheduled to hold from November 15 to 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to a statement posted on the party’s official X account, the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee, confirmed that the convention will elect new national officers and reaffirm the party’s commitment to internal democracy. The announcement, signed by the NCOC Chairman and Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, detailed over 100 members spread across critical sub-committees, each tasked with ensuring the smooth conduct of the convention.
The sub-committees, drawn from the ranks of PDP governors, senators, and key stakeholders, cover vital areas such as accreditation, security, transportation, and electoral processes. Among the prominent assignments, the Accommodation Committee is chaired by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, with former Gombe State Governor Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo as deputy chairman and Alhaji Gamboa Gade as secretary. Governor Dauda Lawal heads the Accreditation Committee, while Governor Douye Diri leads the Contact and Mobilisation Committee, assisted by Senator Abba Moro and Emmanuel Ekpe.
Other key sub-committees include Constitutional Amendment chaired by former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel, Electoral Committee led by NCOC Chairman Umaru Fintiri, Entertainment and Welfare chaired by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and Medical Committee headed by former Senate President Bukola Saraki. In addition, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State chairs the Publicity Committee, Governor Kefas Agbu leads the Security Committee, and Governor Seyi Makinde heads the Transportation Committee.
Other critical roles were also assigned to party heavyweights. The Protocol Committee is chaired by Governor Caleb Muftwang, the Venue Committee by Adebayo Lawal, and the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee by Dr. Agbo Emmanuel, among others.
The PDP described the unveiling of these committees as a decisive step in ensuring a seamless and credible convention that will not only produce new national officers but also strengthen the party’s structures ahead of future electoral contests.
