The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a minor reshuffle in his cabinet and senior civil service appointments as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery.
In a statement released late Monday by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the governor disclosed that the changes affect key ministries, including Justice, Transport, Environment, and Humanitarian Affairs.
Under the new arrangement, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Transport, while the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, has been reassigned as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment. The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been temporarily overseeing the Transport Ministry, will now return fully to her original post.
Governor Yusuf directed the affected officials to hand over to the most senior officers in their current ministries and complete the transition process by Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
According to the statement, the governor emphasized that the adjustments are aimed at boosting efficiency within the administration and ensuring that his government remains focused on delivering on its promises to the people of Kano State.
