A shocking incident has been reported in Uthai Thani province, Thailand, where a 17-year-old male student violently attacked his female mathematics teacher after she refused to alter his test score.
According to reports, the Grade 11 student became furious after scoring 18 out of 20 in a midterm maths test on August 5, insisting that he deserved a perfect score. The teacher explained that although his answers were correct, he failed to show his working process, which was necessary to earn full marks.
The student, unsatisfied with her explanation, sought the opinions of other teachers who confirmed that the grading was fair. Still angered, he returned to the classroom, demanded an apology from the teacher, and when she refused, launched a violent assault in front of about 20 classmates.
Witnesses said the student landed multiple punches and kicks on the teacher, striking her at least 17 times, before she could escape. The teacher sustained broken ribs, a bruised eye, and head injuries and was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that the teacher has filed a report and will make a formal statement. The student has since been expelled from the school, while his parents have reached out to apologise to the teacher.
The disturbing attack, which was captured on video, has sparked outrage across Thailand, with calls for stronger disciplinary measures against violent students and better protection for teachers in classrooms.
