In a strategic move to reinforce security operations in Anambra State, the Anambra State Police Command has taken delivery of a new Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC). The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, received the asset at the State Police Headquarters, Awka, on behalf of officers and men of the Command.
CP Orutugu expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force for the timely intervention, emphasizing that the acquisition will significantly enhance the Command’s operational strength in confronting emerging security threats. According to him, the addition of the APC marks a pivotal boost in the Command’s capacity to maintain law and order, ensure rapid response, and safeguard lives and property across the state.
The Commissioner also lauded the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare and logistics support of police commands nationwide. He noted that the IGP’s proactive leadership continues to reflect in improved morale and efficiency among officers.
Reassuring the people of Anambra, the Command pledged to sustain its efforts in ensuring a peaceful and secure environment. CP Orutugu called on residents to remain law-abiding and continue to support the police in its mission to uphold public safety.
The Police Command reiterated its readiness to collaborate with stakeholders and local communities in achieving lasting peace and security in the state.
