The name of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has been reinstated on the Admin Block of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Secretariat.
The restoration was ordered by Dr. Ndu Walter, the newly appointed Sole Administrator of the LGA, reversing the earlier decision by former chairman Mr. Chijioke Ihunwo, an ally of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who had replaced Wike’s name with that of the late Senator Obi Wali.
A circulating video confirmed the reinstatement of Wike’s name.
This move comes amid a deepening political crisis in Rivers State. Earlier in March, President Bola Tinubu suspended Governor Fubara and appointed Retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas as Sole Administrator of the state following a prolonged power tussle between Fubara and his predecessor, Wike.
