BREAKING: FBI, CIA, DEA, Others Set to Release Tinubu US Investigation Reports

Multiple U.S. government agencies, including the FBI, DEA, IRS, CIA, and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, are scheduled to release documents related to an alleged drug-related investigation involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday, May 2, 2025. This release follows an order from Judge Beryl Howell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, stemming from a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by American citizen Aaron Greenspan in June 2023.

The court ordered all agencies, except the CIA, to file a joint status report and release responsive documents by the deadline. Judge Howell ruled that the agencies’ attempts to block the release of the information were “neither logical nor plausible.”

The FOIA requests target investigations dating back to the 1990s, reportedly linked to a drug trafficking network. The lawsuit seeks records concerning Tinubu and others including Lee Andrew Edwards, Mueez Abegboyega Akande, and Abiodun Agbele.

The Nigerian Presidency has dismissed the case, labeling it as “recycled” and stating that the documents contain no new or incriminating information against President Tinubu. Legal experts also noted that the order could still be appealed by the involved agencies.
