HUMANITY: Prince of Mburubu Showers Community with Millions in Grants and Gifts

In a breathtaking act of generosity, the Prince of Mburubu Kingdom and Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, has stunned his hometown with an avalanche of wealth and goodwill.

Over the Easter weekend, hundreds of residents in Mburubu community, nestled in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, received non-refundable cash grants ranging from ₦200,000 to ₦500,000. Observers have described the initiative as "a rain of naira blessings," drawing admiration nationwide and raising the bar for grassroots philanthropy.

Beyond the individual grants, Dr. Ezeh gifted ₦1 million each to the seven villages that make up Mburubu as an Easter celebration package, amounting to ₦7 million. He also extended ₦3 million to the youth of the community.

“This is no ordinary Easter in Mburubu,” said the President General of Mburubu Town Union, High Chief (Hon) Emma Edeh. “The Prince has turned our town into a beacon of hope. This is what true leadership looks like.”

While much of Nigeria struggles with economic hardship and rising inflation, Mburubu residents have celebrated what they now call the "Easter of Elevation." Beneficiaries have described the grants as life-changing, with many planning to invest in agriculture, trade, and small-scale businesses.

Speaking exclusively to Time Africa, Dr. Ezeh said, “This is just my own little way of supporting my people. I come from this land. I know what we need, and I will always do my part. Everything I give is from my personal pocket.”

This is not the first time Dr. Ezeh has empowered his community. During the last Christmas season, he donated 11 shuttle buses to youths, distributed hundreds of bags of rice, and gave millions of naira to families.

Dr. Ezeh also reiterated his unwavering support for Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, praising the Governor’s people-oriented policies and developmental vision. “The Governor’s blueprint aligns with my personal mission to lift Mburubu and Enugu State at large. He is building a future where no one is left behind,” he said.

While analysts speculate that Dr. Ezeh’s consistent acts of generosity might be positioning him for higher political office, for the people of Mburubu, politics is secondary to the outpouring of goodwill they have received.

As dusk fell on Easter Day, the community came alive with music, dance, and celebration — in honor of a rare leader whose heart beats in rhythm with his people.
