Legendary Juju musician, King Sunny Ade, has been declared missing by his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, sparking widespread concern on social media.
In a series of viral posts, Damilola alleged that King Sunny Ade had been kidnapped by his stepbrother and manager, Dayo, along with other family members. She detailed the singer’s declining health and accused his alleged abductors of exploiting him financially and professionally.
On April 28, 2025, media personality @Akanbitheduke took to Instagram to amplify Damilola’s pleas, revealing that he had attempted to contact the 78-year-old music icon before a friend reached out to him on the daughter’s behalf. According to Akanbi, efforts by King Sunny Ade’s close associates to reach him had repeatedly failed.
Damilola further alleged that her father had been forced into multiple performances without actually performing, damaging his reputation, and that his finances were being controlled to the detriment of his biological children.
She claimed that during her last conversation with her father, he sounded distressed before the phone was abruptly taken away from him, after which he became unreachable.
The situation has stirred massive public concern, with fans and well-wishers demanding urgent clarification and intervention to ensure King Sunny Ade’s safety.
