EXCLUSIVE: Saraki Joins PDP Governors In Secretive Abuja Summit To Shape 2027 Election Plans

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including the party’s governors, are currently holding an important meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

The discussions are centered around forming a coalition of opposition parties in preparation for the 2027 presidential election. The meeting, which began on Wednesday, has seen the participation of several prominent figures within the party.

Former Senate President and ex-governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, made a special trip from London to be part of the discussions.

While Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, is not present, sources reveal that his key allies and supporters are actively involved, making their contributions to the ongoing talks.

Sources close to the meeting told Daily Sun that the party’s governors and leaders are determined to retain their strong position within the PDP, irrespective of any potential coalition agreements.

The objective is to present a united and formidable force in the 2027 elections, ensuring that the PDP remains a major political player, whether or not a coalition is formed.

Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, is expected to speak to the press after the meeting, offering further insights into the party’s strategy and plans for the upcoming election.
