BREAKING: FG Declares Public Holidays



The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. In a statement signed by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Minister congratulated Christians nationwide on the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, love, and unity exemplified by Christ, and to use the holiday period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at achieving sustainable national growth and development.

The Minister also called on citizens to show kindness and generosity to their neighbors and wished all Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration.
