Again, Tragedy Strikes Irigwe Community As Fulani Herdsmen Launch Fresh Attack Today



Irigwe land has been thrown into mourning once again following a deadly ambush by suspected Fulani militias early this morning.

According to reports, three individuals were attacked, two were killed instantly, while the third victim is currently receiving treatment for gunshot wounds at a nearby hospital. A soldier was also reportedly injured during the confrontation.

The deceased have been identified as:

  1. Adamu Bala, 38
  2. Gado Trra, 45

The National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Youths Movement, Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, confirmed the incident and lamented the destruction of over 20 farms during the attack.

Yonkpa described the situation as "an ongoing genocide" and called on the government at all levels to take swift and decisive action to protect the lives and livelihoods of the Irigwe people.

"This is not just an attack on our people but a direct assault on our right to live and farm on our ancestral land," he said.

The Irigwe Youths Movement is urging security agencies and the Plateau State Government to urgently intervene and bring an end to the persistent violence in the area.
