Tragedy struck the quiet community of Bugakwo in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as an 11-year-old boy, Joshua Samson, lost his life after falling from a mango tree.
Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred on Saturday when the young boy climbed the tree to pluck mangoes. According to a resident identified as Danjuma, Joshua slipped from one of the branches and hit his head on a stone at the base of the tree.
“One of the boys he went with ran back home crying to alert the family,” Danjuma said. “The parents rushed him to a nearby health centre in Kwaku, but he was confirmed dead by medical personnel due to serious head injuries.”
The boy has since been buried, and the incident was reportedly not documented with any security agency.
Residents of the community have expressed grief over the loss, describing Joshua as a cheerful and energetic child whose life was tragically cut short.
