Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called for the arrest of Prophet Ebuka Obi, accusing him of deceiving the public with false prophecies and staged miracles.
Sowore criticized the Nigerian authorities for targeting a woman, Loveth Helen Alo, while allegedly allowing Obi to continue his fraudulent activities unchecked.
The Case of Loveth Helen Alo
Loveth Helen Alo, a 32-year-old woman, was recently arraigned in an Enugu court after claiming ownership of a five-bedroom duplex during a testimony at Obi’s Zion Prayer Ministry in Lagos.
Following a petition, the police arrested Alo, who later confessed to fabricating the testimony. She was subsequently charged with fraud, defamation, and attempting to sell the property illegally.
The court granted her bail, and the case is set to continue on April 9, 2025.
Sowore's Criticism of Law Enforcement
Sowore strongly condemned the authorities for prosecuting Alo while failing to investigate Prophet Obi, whom he accused of exploiting his church members financially.
He expressed his willingness to support Alo in her legal battle and urged anyone with her contact information to reach out to him.
This development has sparked widespread reactions, with many calling for a thorough investigation into miracle claims and financial practices at Zion Prayer Ministry.
