Bello El-Rufai Speaks on Father’s Rift with Governor Uba Sani

Bello El-Rufai, the eldest son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has spoken out about the ongoing rift between his father and the current Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani. Bello, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, expressed his displeasure over the conflict, but stated that he is not in a position to intervene or reconcile the two men.

In an interview on BBC Hausa, Bello addressed the investigation into his father's administration by Governor Sani's government. He expressed that while such an investigation is not inherently negative, it should be conducted with clear intentions, and not as a means of humiliation or retaliation for personal grievances.

Bello stated, "It is not a bad thing to investigate, but it should be done with clear intention and not to humiliate anyone or because someone has offended you. But if you are doing it for selfish reasons, Allah will judge. Allah will forgive your frailties, but will not overlook the harm you inflict on someone."

Acknowledging the complexities of life, Bello noted that rifts between people are sometimes inevitable, referencing that even marriages break, and friendships can end. However, he emphasized the importance of maintaining relationships, regardless of disagreements. "It is important to maintain and preserve the ties, no matter what," he said.

This statement comes amid a turbulent period between the two political figures, raising questions about the future of their relationship and the political climate in Kaduna State.
