Gunmen dressed in black and numbering up to seven have abducted the President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka. The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, February 8, 2025, around 7:00 pm at Works Layout, Owerri, Imo State.
According to Chilos Godsent, President of the Igbo National Council (INC), the gunmen arrived in a Sienna and a Lexus SUV and forcefully took Comrade Igboayaka in what has been described as a "Neo Mafia Gestapo" manner.
Since the abduction, all attempts by the OYC members, as well as family members, friends, and associates, to contact him have been unsuccessful, as his mobile lines were switched off immediately following the incident.
In response to the kidnapping, the Igbo National Council (INC) has called on the Nigerian Police Force, Imo State Command, to swiftly investigate the matter and determine the identity of the abductors. The INC emphasized the confusion and distress felt by Comrade Igboayaka’s followers, family, and associates, urging the police to take immediate action and provide information on his whereabouts.
