The Nigeria Police Force has made significant strides in curbing crime with a series of successful operations that led to the arrest of 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 suspected kidnappers, and 152 homicide suspects. In these operations, 73 firearms, 310 rounds of various ammunition, and 56 stolen vehicles were seized. The police also rescued 302 victims from kidnapping rings.
According to Force Public Relations Officer (PRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, several criminal gangs were dismantled. Notable among them was a gang led by Muhammed Kabir, who posed as military personnel to defraud victims by using fake payment alerts to purchase gadgets and medical equipment. Additionally, a gang specializing in motorcycle theft from farmers in Lagos and Ogun States had 15 stolen motorcycles recovered.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reiterated the force's commitment to ensuring public safety, emphasizing that these operations aim to protect citizens and disrupt criminal activities. The police will continue to pursue these criminals to ensure justice is served.
