BREAKING: Justice Served As Nigerian Police Arrest Three Suspects For Torturing Lagos Boutique Female Employee After Outcry

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the brutal torture of a female employee at Don Meserati Classic Boutique in Lagos, following a viral video that sparked public outrage.

The incident, which was widely shared on social media, shows the woman being flogged by several men, reportedly on the orders of the boutique's owner, over allegations of theft. The victim is seen in the video rolling on the ground as the men beat her in the boutique.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests on Monday, assuring the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and to establish contact with the victim. He also emphasized that justice would be served, with the Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, offering reassurances to Lagosians.

Hundeyin shared the update on social media, saying, “Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts are on to apprehend other suspects and establish contact with the victim. The Commissioner of Police assures Lagosians that justice will be served.”

The disturbing video led to widespread condemnation, including from the Take It Back Movement (TIB), a human rights advocacy group, which described the torture as barbaric. The group called for a thorough investigation and urged law enforcement to take swift action.

The police have not yet disclosed the identities of the suspects or provided further details on the victim’s condition. However, the arrest of the three individuals marks a significant development in the case.

This case has further highlighted the need for strict enforcement of workers’ rights and the protection of individuals from abuse
