President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Salisu Muazu Babura as the new Chief Medical Director of Rasheed Shekoni Federal University Dutse Teaching Hospital. This appointment, effective from October 31, 2024, was formally announced by the Federal Ministry of Health.

Dr. Muazu brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Before his appointment, he served as the Permanent Secretary at the State Ministry of History, a role where he demonstrated commendable leadership and dedication to healthcare and governance. His commitment to advancing his expertise is further evident as he is currently participating in the Senior Executive Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Jos.

The Minister of Health expressed confidence in Dr. Muazu’s ability to lead Rasheed Shekoni Federal University Dutse Teaching Hospital effectively, extending best wishes for a productive tenure that would elevate healthcare standards at the institution.

If confirmed by the Senate, Ibiyemi, a lawyer, will succeed the late ‘Niyi Ijalaye, who passed away in August. Additionally, Tinubu has nominated Abdulrazak Yusuf Tukur as National Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representing the North West. These nominations reflect the President's ongoing efforts to strengthen the administration of electoral processes across Nigeria.
