BREAKING: Former Minister, Osita Chidoka Resigns From PDP

Osita Chidoka, a former Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development during President Goodluck Jonathan's administration, has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Chidoka, who also served as the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), made the disclosure during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

In his statement, Chidoka explained that he was stepping away from politics to dedicate more time to his non-profit organization, the Athena Centre. He also emphasized his intention to collaborate with other Nigerians who share his vision of reforming the country's political system. Chidoka revealed that he had formally submitted his resignation to his ward in Anambra State earlier that day.

He stated, “I am leaving the PDP, I am leaving politics for some time, I am focusing on the Athena Centre. I will work in concert with other Nigerians who want us to reform the political system to bring evidence-based governance and to support it. So, effective today, I am no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.”

Chidoka’s decision to step back from politics marks a significant shift in his career, as he looks to focus on broader efforts aimed at fostering political reform in Nigeria. Further details are expected to follow as he outlines his plans for the future.
