...Hails governor’s outstanding performance in public service and governance
The Chairman of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Nana Ogbodo, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on receiving the prestigious Grand Performer Award at the Mandatory National Summit of Local Government Service Commissions of Nigeria, held in Abuja in October 2026.
Ogbodo described the recognition as a significant honour for the governor and a testament to his administration’s performance in public service, governance and the delivery of good governance to the people of Enugu State.
The award was presented during the national summit held at the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Central Business District, Abuja. The event brought together stakeholders in local government administration and public service from across the country.
In his congratulatory message on behalf of the commission, the chairman celebrated Governor Mbah’s achievement, noting that the recognition placed Enugu State in the spotlight at the national level and reflected positively on the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and improving public service delivery.
He further expressed optimism that the honour would inspire renewed commitment among public officers and local government personnel in the state to uphold professionalism, accountability, efficiency and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Ogbodo also reaffirmed the commitment of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission to supporting the state government’s development agenda through effective personnel administration, institutional reforms and the promotion of a productive local government workforce.
He maintained that a well-motivated and professionally managed local government service remained essential to delivering the dividends of democracy to communities across the 17 local government areas of Enugu State.
The chairman’s congratulatory message comes as the state continues to position public service as an important instrument for achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of governance at the grassroots.

The Enugu State Local Government Service Commission is led by Barr. Nana Ogbodo as Chairman, with the following members; Member I, Hon. Peter Nnaji, Member I, Mrs. Florence Ifenyinwa Igboji, Member III, Dr. Bartholomew Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, Member IV, Ambassador Amaka Nweke JP, Secretary, Osondu Henry Nnaji.
The commission is responsible for key aspects of local government personnel administration and the promotion of an effective, professional and efficient local government service in Enugu State.
