Gombe, September 8, 2026 — Momentum is building across tertiary institutions in Gombe State as the City Boy Movement intensifies its campus ambassadors’ activities and membership drive ahead of the Renewed Hope Student Leaders Engagement Programme scheduled to hold on Thursday at Gombe State University.
The mobilisation, led by Comrade Sunday Asefon, National Director, Students Engagement, City Boy Movement, is taking the movement to campuses across the state as organisers engage students, introduce them to the objectives of the movement and encourage wider participation in the forthcoming student engagement programme.
The ongoing campus-to-campus outreach is focused on informing, engaging and inspiring students while creating a stronger network of student ambassadors who can connect their peers with opportunities and initiatives emerging from the movement.
According to Asefon, the activities are designed to make student engagement more meaningful by taking the conversation directly to campuses and creating opportunities for students to participate actively rather than remain passive observers.
He said the mobilisation would continue across more institutions on Wednesday as the movement works to connect with more students and build greater participation ahead of Thursday’s programme.
The Renewed Hope Student Leaders Engagement Programme is expected to provide a platform for interaction with student leaders and young Nigerians on issues surrounding education, youth development, empowerment, leadership and opportunities under the Renewed Hope agenda.
The campus mobilisation has already generated enthusiasm among participating students, with organisers expressing confidence that the growing network of campus ambassadors will help drive wider student participation at the Gombe State University engagement.
Asefon reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to sustained engagement with Nigerian students, stressing that meaningful student participation remains essential to building a generation of informed, empowered and responsible young leaders.
With the campus drive continuing across Gombe State, the City Boy Movement has declared its readiness for the Thursday engagement, sending a simple message to students across the state: “Gombe, we are here!”
