A disturbing video circulating online has revealed that 416 abducted residents of Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of are still alive in captivity.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on March 4, 2026, when insurgents believed to be members of , specifically the faction known as (JAS), stormed the community and abducted hundreds of residents.
According to reports, the six-minute video shows the captivesmostly women and children, alongside a few men,appearing alive while being addressed by a member of the terrorist group during the recording.
In the footage, the insurgent claimed that the video was produced at the request of the (BOSYA), which he alleged has been acting as a mediator since the abduction.
The group also reiterated that the abducted residents are safe in their custody.
Confirming the incident, BOSYA stated that a total of 416 individuals were taken and called on the Nigerian government, international partners, and global stakeholders to intensify efforts toward securing their safe release.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to officially respond to the circulating video.
