BREAKING!! Bandits Sack Kwara Community, Take Over as Residents Flee

Residents of Omugo community in have fled their homes in large numbers following a wave of violent attacks and abductions by suspected bandits, leaving the once მშვიდ settlement virtually deserted.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the attackers have effectively taken control of the community, forcing families to abandon their homes and properties in search of safety in neighboring areas. The sustained assaults have created a climate of fear, making continued habitation in the area nearly impossible.

The situation further deteriorated with the abduction of several worshippers, whose families are now in distress as kidnappers demand huge ransom payments. The exorbitant demands have compounded the suffering of affected families, many of whom lack the financial capacity to secure the release of their loved ones.

Local sources said the persistent attacks have crippled socio-economic activities in the community, with schools shut down, markets deserted, and places of worship operating under extreme caution or completely abandoned.

Community members have appealed to the government and security agencies to urgently intervene, rescue the abducted victims, and restore peace and order to the troubled area.

Observers note that the development highlights the growing insecurity in parts of Kwara State, as communities continue to face threats from armed groups, prompting renewed calls for decisive and sustained security action to prevent further loss of lives and livelihoods.
