Nasir Bala Aminu, popularly known as Ja’oji, has resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership to ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His resignation follows a directive issued by President Tinubu mandating all political appointees seeking elective office in 2027 to step down on or before March 31, 2026, affecting ministers, special advisers, and other key office holders within the administration.
In his resignation letter, Aminu expressed gratitude to the president for the opportunity to serve, highlighting his appointment as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to youth inclusion and leadership development. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the president and commended the administration’s Renewed Hope Initiative as a driver of national development policies.
Although he did not formally declare his intention, sources indicate he is eyeing the Tarauni Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, with supporters already expressing confidence in his anticipated candidacy.
