Nkanu Youths Celebrate Enugu Philanthropist, Chief Samson Nnamani on His Birth Anniversary, Hail His Legacy of Compassion and Impact

"The Chairman of Odera Helping Hands Foundation’s Life is a Testament that True Leadership is Measured not by Wealth or Status, but by the number of lives Touched” —Comr. Dikachukwu David, Global President, NYO

It was a celebration marked not just by candles and congratulations, but by heartfelt gratitude and resounding praise as the Nkanu Youths Organization (NYO) showered glowing tributes on the Founder and Chairman of the Odera Helping Hands Foundation (OHHF), Chief Samson Chukwu Nnamani, on the occasion of his birthday.

Describing him as a “beacon of hope and a rare gift to humanity,” the youth body extolled the philanthropist, fondly known as “Odera”, for his transformative impact on lives and communities across Enugu State and beyond.

In a statement issued in Enugu in the early hours of Monday, February 17, 2026, and signed by its Global President, Comrade Dikachukwu David, NYO celebrated Chief Nnamani’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, youth empowerment, and community development.

According to the statement, Chief Nnamani has, through the Odera Helping Hands Foundation, consistently demonstrated that true leadership is defined not by titles, but by compassion, sacrifice, and a deep sense of responsibility to humanity. The group noted that his philanthropic footprint continues to restore dignity to vulnerable families and rekindle hope among struggling communities.

One of the most remarkable interventions highlighted by the youth body was the foundation’s medical outreach in May 2025, when it reportedly cleared approximately ₦10 million in medical bills for indigent patients at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) and the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu. NYO described the gesture as lifesaving, noting that it brought relief and renewed hope to families who were on the brink of despair.

Beyond healthcare, the organization commended Chief Nnamani’s bold strides in community development. In Akpafu community, the foundation facilitated access to electricity for the first time in the village’s history—an intervention described as both historic and transformative. The foundation also distributed over 1,000 bags of rice and noodles to combat food insecurity and donated motorcycles to local youths to enhance mobility and stimulate economic productivity.

The youth group further praised his strategic investment in human capital development, particularly in the area of youth empowerment. Through skill acquisition initiatives and financial support programs, the foundation has enabled many young people in Nkanu to establish small businesses, create jobs, and reduce unemployment. NYO described these efforts as deliberate steps toward building a self-reliant and economically vibrant generation.

In education and environmental sustainability, the foundation has equally left an indelible mark by awarding scholarships, providing educational materials to deserving students, and promoting environmentally responsible practices. According to NYO, these interventions reflect a holistic and forward-thinking approach to development.

Comrade Dikachukwu emphasized that Chief Nnamani’s philanthropic works are more than acts of charity, they are enduring legacies that will outlive generations. He described the celebrant’s birthday as not merely a personal milestone, but a celebration of impact, humanity, and purposeful service.

“As you mark another year,” the statement read in part, “the Nkanu Youths Organization celebrates your generosity, your vision, and your tireless dedication to the welfare of our people. May this new chapter usher in greater strength, expanded reach, and even more transformative accomplishments.”

The organization concluded with prayers for good health, wisdom, and continued success for the OHHF founder, reaffirming its deep appreciation for his consistent support for Nkanu youths and the wider Enugu community.
