Happening Now!! Sheikh Gumi Reportedly Deletes All Anti-U.S Posts from His Social Media Accounts

Controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, has reportedly deleted several social media posts critical of the United States, sparking widespread reactions and speculation across online platforms.

The claims emerged on Saturday, January 3, 2026, after multiple users on X (formerly Twitter) alleged that the Kaduna-based cleric quietly removed posts condemning recent U.S. military actions abroad. Screenshots circulated by users suggested that earlier content critical of Washington was no longer visible on some of his social media accounts.

The speculation intensified following online discussions linking the alleged deletions to reports of recent high-profile U.S. military operations overseas. Some social media users jokingly suggested that the cleric’s action was motivated by fear, though no evidence has been provided to support such claims.

One viral post on X alleged that Sheikh Gumi deleted the content shortly after reports surfaced online, with the claim gaining thousands of views and reposts within hours.

Sheikh Gumi, who is known for his outspoken views on national security and international affairs, had in recent weeks strongly criticized reported U.S. airstrikes on suspected terrorist camps in northwestern Nigeria. In statements made in late December 2025, he described the strikes as divisive, questioned the moral authority of the United States in counterterrorism efforts, and urged the Nigerian government to reconsider military cooperation with Washington. He also suggested Nigeria explore security partnerships with countries such as Turkey, China, or Pakistan.

However, checks as of the time of filing this report indicate that some of Sheikh Gumi’s posts related to the airstrikes remain visible on his official Facebook page, raising questions about the accuracy of claims that all critical content had been deleted.

As of press time, Sheikh Gumi has not issued any official statement addressing the alleged deletion of posts or responding to the claims circulating on social media.
