President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 12 new members to the Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST), a move aimed at strengthening the tribunal’s capacity to resolve disputes in Nigeria’s capital market.

The appointments, announced on Tuesday, followed recommendations from the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, in line with the provisions of the Investments and Securities Act 2025.

The newly appointed members are:

  • Amos Isaac Azi – Chairman
  • Gboyega Oyekanmi
  • Felix Onwuneme
  • Shehu Lawal Mandiya
  • Robert Uchenna Okwuego
  • Osaze Ize-Iyamu
  • Ummahani Ahmad Amin
  • Ali Sadiq Mohammed
  • Olatunde M. Amolegbe
  • Udegbulam Athanatius Chukwuemeka
  • Orya Ungwaga Roberts
  • Kamarudee Oladosu

According to officials, the appointments are designed to enhance the tribunal’s efficiency in protecting investors’ rights and ensuring fairness and transparency within Nigeria’s financial markets. The IST serves as a specialized body that handles disputes related to investments and securities, providing quick and impartial resolutions that bolster investor confidence.

With the new team bringing expertise in law, finance, capital markets, and public service, the tribunal is expected to play an even more vital role in promoting trust and stability in the country’s investment environment.
