GOOD NEWS: Enugu’s Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Dame Ugochi Madueke, Named Among Africa’s Top 100 Travel & Tourism Personalities


Enugu State has gained continental recognition as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dame Ugochi Madueke, was named among the Africa Travel 100 Women – Top 100 Travel & Tourism Personalities in Africa at the 21st Akwaaba African Travel Market 2025. The honour celebrates women driving growth in travel, hospitality, and tourism across Africa and underscores Enugu’s rising profile as a premier cultural and tourism destination.


Expressing her gratitude, Dame Madueke dedicated the award to the people of Enugu State and shared:

“I am deeply humbled to be named among the Africa Travel 100 Women – Top 100 Travel & Tourism Personalities in Africa at the 21st Akwaaba African Travel Market 2025.

This recognition is not just about me, but about Enugu State and the great strides we are making in positioning our culture and tourism as a pride of Africa.
