The Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State and Chairman of the South East Disciplinary Committee of the PDP, Barr. Steve Oruruo, has described Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as a leader endowed with exceptional intellectual depth, clarity of thought, and lucidity of mind. Oruruo made this assertion while speaking on the topic “Enugu Smart Schools: Turning Aspiration into Reality” during the Beyond the Headlines programme on Freedom Square TV, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.
According to Oruruo, Governor Mbah’s policies and strategic initiatives reflect a rare combination of foresight and precision, placing Enugu State on a path of accelerated growth and development. He commended the Governor’s visionary ideas and pragmatic approach to governance, noting that the Smart Schools project exemplifies his determination to transform education and human capital development in the state.
Highlighting the Governor’s ambition to create a globally competitive learning environment, Oruruo explained that the Smart Schools are designed to prepare children to thrive in the modern world. “It places a destination where our children will stay here in Nigeria and work in London, New York, Australia, Japan and do business in China,” he said. He added that the Governor’s vision also speaks to Africa’s post-colonial drive to escape the constraints of western imperialism.
Oruruo further revealed that the Smart Schools are equipped to teach mechatronics, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge skills from as early as age three, while offering free lunch, uniforms, tuition, and comprehensive learning facilities. He stressed that such initiatives promote social equalization by giving both the rich and the poor equal access to quality education, which he described as the true dividend of democracy.
The PDP chieftain concluded by stating that Governor Mbah’s forward-thinking policies have continued to inspire confidence among citizens and stakeholders, reinforcing his reputation as a transformative leader whose administration is redefining governance standards in Enugu State.
