Former House of Representatives member for Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency in Taraba State, Hon. Abdulsalam Mubarak, has passed away in Abuja after a brief illness.
Mubarak, who represented the constituency from 2015 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly fell ill three weeks ago and was taken to a hospital in Abuja for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to the illness, leaving behind what many described as a legacy of dedicated leadership.
Confirming the news, a family source, Musa Khalib, expressed deep grief over the loss, describing him as a political legend and praying for Allah’s forgiveness for his shortcomings.
On his Facebook page, the former Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Albasu Kunini, also mourned the late lawmaker, describing him as a dedicated public servant and extending condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Similarly, Professor Jerome Nyame described Mubarak’s death as a huge loss to Bali/Gassol Constituency and Taraba State at large, recalling his passion for public service and commitment to uplifting his people.
Meanwhile, the family announced that his Janazah (funeral prayer) will hold tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. immediately after Zuhr at the National Mosque, Abuja. His body will later be taken to Abuja Central Mosque on Tuesday, where the funeral will take place at 2 p.m. the same day.
The family prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
