BREAKING: FG Declares Public Holidays!

The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 22, 2025, a statutory public holiday to commemorate Founder’s Day.

In a statement released on Wednesday by the Ministry of the Interior, the government explained that the holiday, originally scheduled for Sunday, September 21, was shifted to the following Monday since the initial date falls on a weekend.

According to the statement signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the declaration was made through an Executive Instrument issued by President John Mahama, in line with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), as amended.

The Minister urged Nigerians to observe the day nationwide, calling it an opportunity for reflection on the nation’s founding values and collective progress.
