NBA 2025 Annual Conference: Enugu CP, Security Chiefs Assure Tight Security and Hitch-Free Event

 



As Enugu State prepares to host the prestigious Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2025 Annual Conference, the Enugu State Police Command has rolled out sweeping security measures to guarantee the safety of participants, residents, and visitors.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, convened a high-level security meeting at the Command Headquarters, Enugu, with heads of all major security agencies in the state to finalize security arrangements ahead of the highly anticipated event.

The meeting emphasized synergy, intelligence-driven operations, and inter-agency collaboration, culminating in the adoption of a massive, proactive, and coordinated deployment of personnel and resources across the state.

Reassuring the public, CP Giwa stated that the command, in collaboration with sister agencies, has instituted adequate operational measures to ensure a safe and hitch-free conference. He called on participants and residents to remain law-abiding, cooperative with security operatives, and confident in the collective commitment of the security community to their safety.

In his words, “We have put in place all necessary strategies to ensure that the NBA 2025 Annual Conference in Enugu is peaceful, safe, and free of security breaches. We urge participants and residents to stay vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, objects, or emergencies through our dedicated control lines.”

The control lines made available for public use include the Police Command’s Control Room (08032003702, 08086671202) and the Enugu State Command-and-Control Center (112, 09134666668, 09134448093).

The strategic security session had in attendance top security heads, including Brigadier General Stephen Dogo, Commander, 82 Division Garrison of the Nigerian Army, Enugu; Mr. Humphrey Ohikuare, State Director, Department of State Services (DSS); Mr. Willie Elijah Etim, State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); and Mr. Franklin Agbakoba, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS9.1 Enugu.

Others present were Mr. Abel Wadahi, Commander, NDLEA Enugu State; Mrs. Prisca Oku, Controller, Nigerian Correctional Service, Enugu State; Mrs. Nkechi Enete, Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service, Enugu State; and Mr. Ezeora Chinweuba Godwin, Controller, Federal Fire Service, Enugu State. The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Madueke, Nigeria Customs Service (Anambra/Ebonyi/Enugu Area Command), and the Enugu Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were duly represented.

With the NBA conference expected to draw thousands of legal luminaries, government officials, and international guests, security agencies say they are fully prepared to deliver a secure, peaceful, and world-class hosting experience in Enugu.
