Residents of Enugu were thrown into concern on Sunday after a little boy, identified only as Wisdom, was found wandering alone near Holy Ghost Park, close to the popular Ogbete Main Market.
According to eyewitnesses, the boy, who is about four years old, appeared distressed and could barely communicate when approached. When questioned, he only managed to say that his mother is in Ibadan, but provided no further details that could help in identifying his family.
The incident has since sparked public attention, with passersby and concerned citizens calling for urgent efforts to reunite the child with his parents or guardians. Authorities and good Samaritans in the area are appealing to members of the public who may recognize the child to come forward with useful information.
The discovery of Wisdom has also reignited conversations around child safety and parental vigilance, especially in crowded public spaces like markets and transport hubs.
For now, the boy is reportedly in safe custody, pending identification and reunion with his family.
