BREAKING!! Governor Appoints New MD to Top State Government Agency

In a strategic move to consolidate media reforms in Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani has appointed Ben Solomon Dalhatu Kure as the new Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). This follows the elevation of the former MD, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, to the position of Commissioner for Information.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Sunday, August 3, 2025, by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa, who praised the contributions of Alhaji Maiyaki in transforming KSMC into a leading public information platform.

According to the statement, Governor Sani expects Ben Kure to build on the achievements of his predecessor and drive the corporation’s mandate of effective public communication. Describing Kure as a seasoned public communication expert and political strategist, the Governor expressed confidence that the new MD’s vast experience across the public and private sectors would add value to the corporation’s operations.

Ben Kure’s impressive public service record includes his tenure as Chairman of Jaba Local Government Area (2016–2017), Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (2018–2019), and Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor (2019–2021).

Before joining the public sector, he held key positions in the banking industry, including Branch Manager of Oceanic Bank/ECOBANK Nigeria (2010–2012), Team Leader at Zenith Bank (2005–2006), and Team Leader, Public Sector at Broad Bank (2003–2004).

Kure holds a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geography and Planning. He is also a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants.

Governor Uba Sani’s administration continues to prioritize competent leadership and sectoral efficiency in state institutions, with the appointment of Ben Kure seen as part of a broader media transformation strategy.
