A shocking video has surfaced online showing the moment two men abducted a young woman in broad daylight near a railway station in Nanded city, Maharashtra, India.
The disturbing incident, caught on camera by stunned bystanders, has since gone viral on social media and sparked outrage across the country.
In the video, two young men arrive on a motorcycle and are seen forcibly dragging the girl, who fights back and screams in protest. One of the men grabs her tightly by the neck while trying to subdue her, as his accomplice prepares the bike for a quick getaway.
Bystanders can be seen watching the incident unfold, with one man heard in the background saying, “Let’s rescue the girl.” However, despite the crowd and ongoing resistance from the woman, the assailants manage to lift her onto one of the bikes. One of the men rides away while the other flees on a separate motorcycle.
Following the viral spread of the video, the Nanded Police immediately swung into action. According to Superintendent of Police, Abinash Kumar, the girl has been safely rescued.
“Police personnel were already in the area when the incident happened. Once alerted, our officers gave chase to the suspects. During the pursuit, the accused threw the girl in the middle of the road in a desperate attempt to escape,” Kumar said.
He further confirmed that the police are conducting a full-scale manhunt for the suspects. The investigation is currently ongoing, and the victim’s statement is being used to aid the case.
The viral footage has raised serious concerns about public safety, police presence, and the alarming apathy of bystanders in emergency situations.
Two Indian media outlets — Maharashtra Times and News9 — also released statements and video footage of the incident, further amplifying public concern and demands for justice.
