BREAKING!! Gunmen Kidnap Six Nigerian Law School Students, Demand N20 Million Ransom

In a disturbing development, six students of the Nigerian Law School en route to the Yola campus in Adamawa State have been abducted by suspected armed bandits. The incident reportedly occurred late on Saturday, July 26, 2025, along the notoriously dangerous Wukari-Benue highway, a corridor long plagued by violent crimes and kidnapping activities.

The victims, identified as Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David, were said to be returning to campus after completing their mandatory court externship. They were traveling in a commercial vehicle operated by AJ Dan Pullo Transport Company, based in Onitsha, Anambra State, when the attack occurred.

A fellow student at the Yola campus, who identified himself as Johnson, confirmed that the kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims, demanding a N20 million ransom for their release.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies and school authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the abduction. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian Law School community and heightened concerns over the persistent insecurity along the Wukari-Benue axis.

The affected students were expected to resume academic activities on Monday, July 28, following the conclusion of their court placements. The Nigerian public and legal community are calling for swift action to ensure the safe return of the abducted students and to bolster security along high-risk routes.

This tragic development adds to the growing list of kidnapping cases plaguing Nigeria's highways, particularly in the North Central region, raising urgent questions about student safety and national security.
