In a major step toward consolidating gains from the recently concluded Nkanu Youths Economic Summit 2025, the Apex Akanu Youth Group has announced the formation of the Nkanu Youths Trust Fund, with renowned academic and urban planner, Prof. Victor Nnam, emerging as Chairman of the strategic committee.
The Trust Fund, birthed as a direct offshoot of the groundbreaking economic summit held at the Enugu International Conference Centre, is envisioned as a robust vehicle for mobilizing resources to support human capital development initiatives across the Nkanu region, particularly the ongoing skills acquisition and apprenticeship projects that were launched during the summit.
Joining Prof. Nnam on the Trust Fund’s executive committee are respected and dynamic individuals committed to youth advancement:
- Chinasa Aneke – Secretary
- Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike – Member
- Mr. Emma Ekene Nnamani – Member
- Alhaji Sani – Member
According to stakeholders, the Trust Fund is designed to raise sustainable financial and material support for strategic youth-focused projects, with an emphasis on digital training, vocational mentorship, and the revitalization of the Igbo Igba-Boi apprenticeship system.
The move has been widely applauded by youths and stakeholders alike, who believe this marks a new era of practical commitment to youth empowerment in Nkanu land. The Trust Fund will operate independently but in close collaboration with relevant government bodies, private sector partners, and development organizations to maximize its reach and impact.
With this development, the Nkanu Youths Economic Summit 2025 has proven not to be a one-off event but the launchpad for a sustained youth-led transformation in the region.
