Finally, Anambra Man Catches the ‘Snake That Swallowed Millions from JAMB Office’ (Video)

In a comedic yet symbolic twist to one of Nigeria’s most ridiculed corruption scandals, popular Anambra-based comedian and public service announcer, MC Aiza Nwosu, popularly known as Aiza Awka, has claimed to have finally “captured” the legendary snake that allegedly swallowed ₦36 million from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) office in Makurdi, Benue State.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Aiza is seen holding a large python, humorously declaring it to be the very snake behind the 2018 financial scandal. He jestingly said he had been on a mission to hunt the creature and had at last succeeded.
“This is the snake that swallowed the money,” Aiza exclaimed, poking fun at the bizarre claim once made by a JAMB staff member. He went further to blame the reptile for contributing to national economic woes and hunger by “swallowing Nigerians’ money,” before vowing that the snake would face consequences.
The comedian’s satire draws from a real event in February 2018 when Philomena Chieshe, a sales clerk at the JAMB office in Makurdi, claimed a mysterious snake spiritually consumed ₦36 million from the office vault. The claim sparked national outrage and ridicule, leading to her suspension and eventual arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), along with other implicated officials.
Aiza’s act has been widely interpreted as a satirical commentary on Nigeria’s corruption and the absurd narratives sometimes used to cover financial misappropriations
