The Nigeria Police Force has announced an extension of the enforcement date for the tinted glass permit to August 12, 2025, following widespread public concerns over the newly reactivated digital application system.
According to the Police, the decision was prompted by numerous complaints from Nigerians regarding the usability of the online platform. In response, authorities have committed to implementing upgrades and adjustments aimed at making the system more accessible, efficient, and equitable for all applicants.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police noted that both the online and physical application procedures are being improved to speed up verification processes and minimize delays or unnecessary challenges. They also urged applicants to utilize the official portal — possap.gov.ng — for applying or renewing their tinted glass permits.
Furthermore, the Police encouraged members of the public to report any instances of hidden charges or extortion, particularly during biometric capture, via the designated hotline: 09169967000.
The Force reiterated its commitment to enhancing public service delivery by integrating technology and safety into its operational framework, assuring Nigerians that efforts are ongoing to provide a better and more transparent experience for all citizens.
