BREAKING! Again, Gunmen Attack Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Residence

Suspected gunmen on Tuesday night launched a fresh attack on the country home of Senator Natasha H. Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, located in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

This incident marks the second attack on the senator’s residence in the past two months.

According to Vanguard, the assailants stormed the residence late at night, shattering windows and attempting further damage before being repelled by a combined team of local police officers, vigilantes, and concerned youths from the community.

One of the attackers, identified as Suberu Jose, a local resident, was apprehended during the incident. Security sources revealed that he confessed to having participated in three previous attacks on the senator’s property. A cutlass and some charms believed to belong to him were recovered at the scene.

An angry mob tried to lynch the suspect upon his arrest, but the police intervened and took him into custody. The remaining attackers reportedly fled and have not yet been apprehended.

This latest assault follows an earlier incident on April 15, 2025, during which the senator’s home was also damaged. No arrests were made in that case.

The arrest of a suspect this time is being seen as a positive development toward unraveling those behind the recurring attacks.

Tension has been mounting around Senator Natasha in recent months, especially as she faces two criminal charges filed by the Federal Government. These came after she publicly accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment — an allegation that led to her six-month suspension from the Senate.

In response to the latest attack, the senator’s media team appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid violence. Senator Natasha reaffirmed her commitment to representing the people of Kogi Central and called for an end to politically motivated violence and intimidation.
