WAHALA! UNN Staff Caught on Video Charging Students ₦16k Each for Admission Clearance, Refuses Transfers [VIDEO]

A staff member of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has been caught on video allegedly collecting ₦16,000 in cash from new students for admission clearance. The incident was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a student who secretly recorded the event.

In the footage, the staff member is seen accepting cash from a student and counting the money to confirm the amount. The student claims that the staff member insists on cash payments only and refuses bank transfers.

The student further alleges that hundreds of students in the department are being asked to pay the same amount for clearance. In the video, the student appeals for help, stating:
"Nigerians, come to our help. This is the Faculty of Agriculture doing clearance. This man is collecting ₦16k from each student — this is not fair. Thousands of students are coming to do clearance. He tells you he doesn’t take transfer."

The video has sparked widespread outrage online, with many condemning the act as a form of extortion.
