Tinubu May Be Disqualified from 2027 Race — APC Chieftain Warns

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has raised concerns over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential eligibility to contest in the 2027 presidential election, warning that pending disclosures from the United States government could derail the President’s ambitions.

Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People's Democratic Party (nPDP), disclosed that if the U.S. releases the alleged file reportedly linked to President Tinubu, it could significantly impact his political future.

He noted that amid growing dissatisfaction with the current administration’s performance, Nigerians are increasingly calling on former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to return to the political arena and possibly run for president in 2027.

A government whose focus is to manipulate the process to retain power in 2027 has failed. The wobbling economy, hunger, insecurity, and daily bloodshed should deeply concern any responsible government. But instead, the presidency seems fixated on holding onto power at all costs,” Eze stated.

According to him, Amaechi represents a beacon of hope. “Amaechi is a pride to Nigeria. His record in public service makes him a credible and desirable presidential material. Many Nigerians are asking whether he will run in 2027, and it's a valid question given the present state of the country.”

He further remarked, “2027 will be full of surprises. Tinubu may not even be in a position to stand for election if the U.S. decides to unseal the alleged file. And honestly, the glaring failures of his administration should already disqualify him from seeking re-election.”

Eze concluded that Nigeria is in dire need of leadership with vision and capacity, and urged responsible figures to rise to the occasion.
