The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that results for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released on Friday, May 9, 2025.
This means that candidates who participated in this year’s UTME can begin checking their results from Friday morning.
The development was confirmed in a statement obtained by Dockaysworld. According to the notice:
“The release of the 2025 UTME is scheduled to hold tomorrow, Friday 9th May, 2025; Venue: JAMB National Headquarters, Bwari, Abuja; Time: 8:00 AM.”
In anticipation of the official release, JAMB revealed performance statistics for the over 1.9 million candidates who sat for the examination. The figures indicate that more than 1.5 million candidates scored below 200, the commonly referenced benchmark score for university admission.
The UTME is graded out of 400 marks, with candidates required to sit for four subjects. While Use of English is compulsory, candidates choose three other subjects relevant to their preferred courses of study.
The board’s early disclosure of performance trends may inform institutional cut-off marks and help candidates gauge their chances ahead of admission screenings.
