BREAKING: Governor Reshuffles Cabinet, Reassigns Five Commissioners


According to the statement, the redeployment of commissioners takes immediate effect. Ogunwuyi noted that the reshuffle is part of Governor Makinde’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved a major cabinet reshuffle, affecting several key ministries in his administration. The changes were announced in a statement issued by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, on Monday.


“The movement of the affected appointees within the governor’s cabinet is with immediate effect,” Ogunwuyi stated. He further urged all cabinet members to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties and maintain total loyalty to the state government.


Below is the list of reassigned commissioners:

Seun Ashamu, formerly Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.


Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, former Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, is now in charge of the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport.


Dahud Shangodoyin, previously overseeing Public Works, will now lead the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.


Solihu Adelabu, erstwhile Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, has been moved to the Ministry of Establishments and Training.


Segun Olayiwola, formerly in charge of Establishments, now heads the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.



The governor’s team emphasized that the reshuffle aims to align the commissioners' strengths with strategic priorities and ensure optimal performance across all ministries.
