The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has directed the removal of 52 senior officers who retired between May 1, 2018, and April 1, 2025, from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), the federal government's central payroll platform.
This directive was issued through a wireless message dated April 10, 2025, with reference number CH:8400/FS/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.1/78. It originated from the Office of the Force Secretary and was addressed to the ICT/Computer Unit at Force Headquarters, Abuja, and the Records and Data Management Section.
The memo, titled ‘Discharge and Retirement’, was circulated to relevant departments, formations, and sister security agencies, notifying them of the officers' official retirement status and instructing that they be promptly removed from the IPPIS payroll.
An excerpt from the wireless message obtained by SaharaReporters reads:
“Grateful be informed that the underlisted senior police officers have been retired from the Force W.E.F. (With Effect From) dates indicated against their names…”
Among the retired officers listed are:
- DCP Abdullateef Yusuf Ajape (retired May 1, 2018)
- ACP Kingsley Anyanwu, ACP Theman Salami Dille, ACP Ukam Stephen Ukor, ACP Akande Sunday, ACP Anthony E. Inaboghuma, ACP Kolawole Bamidele, among many others.
The full list includes Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), and Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), all of whom had retirement dates ranging from 2018 to 2025.
The directive concluded with an instruction to all relevant departments to update their records and ensure that the affected officers are no longer on the payroll, stating:
“AIGPOL Budget ABUJA only. Grateful delete officers’ names from IPPIS payroll. Amend records yours accordingly, please.”
