Man Breaks Wife's Head For Participating In Protest In Support of Fubara

A disturbing case of domestic violence has been reported in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, where a man identified as Theophilus Ndiamzi Amadi, allegedly attacked his wife for participating in a rally believed to support the current Governor, Siminialaye Fubara.

The woman, whose name was not disclosed, reportedly joined the rally after receiving a N2,000 token from a group of Pro-Wike women in Port Harcourt. Her husband, Amadi, who is said to be a civil servant with the Rivers State Ministry of Education, became infuriated upon learning of her involvement.

Sources say Amadi harbored resentment toward former Governor Nyesom Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, accusing him of failing to employ or promote civil servants during his eight-year tenure. His anger reportedly boiled over when he recalled how the N100,000 Christmas bonus issued by Governor Fubara was used to pay their rent, compounding his frustration.

The attack reportedly left the woman with a head injury. However, the Rivers State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident, suggesting that it may not have been officially reported.

The case has reignited discussions about domestic abuse, gender-based violence, and political tensions in the state, with calls for authorities to investigate and ensure justice for the victim. Gender rights activists are also urging more proactive measures to protect women from politically charged violence within homes and communities.
